Book 1 introduces Buttercup and also a number of children who decide to make a den inside a tree. The children are Millie who is 5 years old, Harry who is 6 years old and Andy who is 4 years old.
Book 2 shows Buttercup watching the children bringing a mat, cushions and a table into their new den to make it comfortable. Buttercup has a fantastic idea and decides to surprise the children by making some Fairy Cakes and some other things for them!
